I hand painted the Black and use a mixture of yellow and van dyke stain to get a rich
warm antique amber tone as a finish. Walnut cabinet with a bleached
out look, very appealing for this era.

Antigue furniture repair and cleaning

I
An important part of furniture conservation is careful cleaning.  Removing the years of dirt trapped in the finish. As the shellac ages each year it becomes hard in the winder and soft in the summer when it attracts air dirt and then traps it when it hardens.  Cleaning this dirt takes a special formula to extract the dirt.

Colonial Restoration studio removes veneer bubbles

The trick of the day is laying veener back down on the French desk.  Using a Hot iron a damp cloth I rehydrate the glues under the veener which also softens the veneer. A little pressure to the hot veneer untll cool insures good adhesion.
